Site Supervisor

The site supervisor oversees the daily site activities and ensures that the project progresses effectively. He is responsible for the start-up of the site, the continual progress of work and the closing of the site. Depending on the scope of the project, he may be assisted by a foreman.

Main tasks :

- Set up first site meeting with the Project Manager and sub trades;
- Ensure that all sub trades fulfill their contractual obligations and job requirements;
- Coordinate site activities of sub trades and TEQ employees;
- Prepare and write site reports on a daily basis;
- Keep Project Manager informed of progress of site activities, of any changes or adjustments to work schedule;
- Receive all site material and check that it is conform to specs;
- Correct all deficiencies in view of obtaining the certificate of substantial completion and of final completion of project;
- Act as resource person in matters of work safety on the site;
- Work in collaboration with the Work Safety Officer, when one is present on site;
- All other related work for the smooth operation of the construction site

Experience & Education

- Minimum 5 years experience as super for construction projects of institutional, commercial and industrial buildings of a value of 1 M$ +

Project Manager

The Project Manager will work under the Vice-President Construction and in close collaboration with the management team, the project managers and the assistants to the project managers. In this capacity, he will manage and take full responsibility for construction projects.

Main responsibilities

- Manage the construction projects;
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and sub trades;
- Manage the budget and the schedule of the projects;
- Ensure quality of work executed and profitability of projects with management tools of the company;
- Write the minutes of the meetings for the progress of work;
- Communicate and ensure transmission of knowledge and information to team members;
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of management systems and tools;
- Keep up to date with rules and regulations in the industry (CSST, CCQ, Building Code, etc.);

Experience and Education

- Bachelor of Civil Engineering or Building Studies or equivalent
- 8 –10 years experience in construction project management
- Post graduate degree in a related field, an advantage

Senior Estimator

The Senior Estimator will answer to the Chief Estimator; he is expected to master the analysis of plans and specification documents for the calls to tender. The estimator will be able to determine which items or specialty trades are key to a successful bid. The person will be able to analyse a bid from a sub trade and to calculate quantities to enter into a punch list. The Senior Estimator will evaluate the extent of work required for a project and will establish unit prices.

Main Responsibilities

- Prepare with Chief Estimator, list of sub trades to invite to bid;
- Prepare punch list;
- Estimate costs of labour and material;
- Analyse bids;
- Effect final revision of an estimate together with Chief Estimator;
- Perform any other related task at the request of the Chief Estimator;
- Be available when needed on sites.

Education and Experience

- University degree in engineering or architecture; or
- College diploma in cost estimation for construction;
- Minimum 5 years experience in construction project estimation of buildings – institutional, industrial and commercial;
